Rabies Policy

Dear Clients,

We have an important policy update to share with you. As of April 7, 2021, all patients are required to be current on their Rabies vaccination to receive treatment at Mukilteo Veterinary Hospital, unless exempted by your pet’s veterinarian. If your pet has a current Rabies vaccination that was received at another facility, you are welcome to bring documentation or provide the name of the facility so our staff can obtain records.

Both Federal and Washington State law have specific requirements regarding the Rabies vaccine for both veterinarians and pet owners. For more information, please see the following links:

Your pet’s health and safety are our utmost priority. Requiring this vaccination not only protects our staff and other pets, but also helps prevent your pet from catching a preventable fatal disease.  Because rabies is a deadly virus that can affect people and animals, we follow federal guidelines to prevent any possibility of exposure. We encourage you to contact us if you have any questions or concerns about how this impacts your pet.

Sincerely

Mukilteo Veterinary Staff

No call / No Show Policy

We would like to inform you of a new policy for Mukilteo Veterinary Hospital. It is a “No Call/No Show” policy that will be enacted on December 20, 2021. This policy has been established in order to provide the highest level of veterinary care to all of our patients and to ensure they can be seen by one of our veterinarians in a timely manner. By providing us notice of a cancellation, we may be able to accommodate other patients with your appointment slot. When a client does not show up for a scheduled appointment, it creates an unused appointment slot that could have been used for another patient that needs or should be seen by one of our veterinarians.

It is very important that you call within 24 hours in advance to cancel your appointment. First offense, your account will be noted. Second time, your account will be noted and the practice manager will be contacting you to discuss/notify the owner of the second offense and the possible consequences that will incur if a third offense is reached. Third offense, the owner will be asked to pay a nonrefundable deposit of $78.00 to reserve any future appointments. We understand there may be times when an unforeseen emergency occurs and you may not be able to keep your appointment. As long as you call and let us know that you will not be able to keep your appointment, there will be no penalties. Thank you for your understanding.
